go the drops of rain
boom rolls the thunder
flash goes the lightning
this is a summer storm

heat of the day gone
cold air fills the space
chills of anticipation
as you feel the raindrops on your face

everyone is running
finding cover,
a safe spot to watch
the clouds as they quickly darken

the rain and the crack of thunder come faster, louder
the sky is lit bright as day
eventually the flash of lightning fades
the thunder quiets
all thats left is the same pitter patter that was the beginning
the storm moves on
